Barrington's Irish Bar and Grill

We found this Irish pub on a day drive and decided to try it out for takeout. Both times I ordered to-go, and the food was amazing! The fish and chips were perfectly battered and fried 👌🏾, and the potato wedges had that extra buttery crunch I love. The first time, the lady who helped me was quick and friendly. On my second visit, the service wasn’t as great—the guy at the counter didn’t greet me, walked past to assist an empty table, and told me there was no ketchup even though I saw it on another table. Maybe it was just an off day. Either way, the food is consistently delicious, and that’s what keeps me impressed.

This was one of the very few places open close to 8PM on a week night. I walked in not expecting much. Sat outside and ordered wine and Bangers & Mash. The wine is served in adult sizes, no skimping here. The Bangers and Mash had to be the best I have ever had. My work partner had the knife and fork Beef Stew and he said it was fabulous. This should be your next stop if you're looking for good food in Oak Harbour.

The atmosphere was great. Happy hour prices were reasonable. I ordered a Huckleberry Fizz and Calamari to start for the table. The calamari was a bit overcooked (chewy), but sauces were flavorful. For dinner, I ordered the lamb & beef burger, which was good. My husband ordered the corned beef and cabbage. It was beyond tough, and when asked how it was, there was no offer to get him something else. It was left on the plate, and he ate everything else around it. We won't be going back.

Loved the aesthetic, table space and overall atmosphere. Waitress was amazing. Drinks and food were so delicious. One of the better places in oak harbor. 2 adult drinks, 2 apps and 2 entrees for just under $100 which isn’t bad considering prices lately.
