Barrel and Baskit is so much more than a store—it’s the kind of place you can genuinely rely on every single day, and it has truly become the heartbeat of our community. What I love most is how easy they make everyday life. When I don’t want to think about what’s for dinner—and I don’t want takeout—I can zip right down and grab a fresh, beautifully prepared meal from the refrigerator or freezer. Everything is homemade, thoughtfully prepped, and made with real care and great ingredients. The portions are generous, too—when I bring meals home for my family, they often last us two full dinners. That’s two nights of excellent food I didn’t have to plan or cook, and it’s such a gift during busy weeks. Mornings are just as easy. I can grab a kombucha or cold brew, a breakfast sandwich, or one
Really lovely selection of basic and specialty food items; eggs, milk, flour, etc plus local mustard, hard ciders, and maple syrup. The deli counter is excellent; soups and sandwiches, as well as a cold brew bar with kombucha, iced coffee, and iced teas! I grew up around here and I’m so glad this place has survived and flourished.
I have to put up a disclaimer here, I'm a local contractor who has always viewed this store as a place for a quick stop, a sandwich ( breakfast or otherwise) and as a "village store" New Englanders all know what a village store is and how they work. I'm a tough customer, I think. Not to mention that this place used to be a great little village grocery/convenience store and it's now an inconvenience store, you can't even get cigarettes or lotto here anymore. The breakfast sandwiches are mid and expensive, sadly. Actually everything is expensive, premade Italian sandwiches for 14$ donut $2.50 ( Brothers so it's expected and very good). The coffee is horrible and only worth getting if you're into self loathing. ( Yeah I do this occasionally) I know, I know, it's a local roaster, but not ever
I went in this morning and needed help to know where the closest gas station was for windshield fluid. The staff there gave me some of theres to use until i could get by. Absolutely amazing and friendly staff i couldnt believe it. Highly recommend their food as well. I had a pre packaged sandwhich and i could tell it was made fresh with every bite.
Barrel & Baskit is such a great little spot. I stop in here frequently for soup and sandwich for lunch. I've tried almost all of thevsandwiches and they are all delicious. Tomato bisque and grilled cheese with ham is one of my favorites, but they also offer other soups and stews. Check out their online options. They also have meals that you can bring home to cook and a awesome supply of specialty beer as well as non-alcoholic options. Great little place. Highly recommend!
