Barra Santos is a cozy spot with a nice vibe and plenty of outdoor and bar seating. The service is great, making you feel right at home. Parking is difficult but we got lucky and got a spot right in front. After 4 you ca park across the street at the coffee place for $5 The menu is more of a Portuguese tapas style, focusing on small plates to share rather than larger traditional Portuguese dishes. The cod fish fritters and crudo are definitely highlights—they're really tasty! The sardines might be a bit on the salty side, and while the bifana pork sandwich is good, it’s not the traditional version you'd expect. The staff chats easily, offers suggestions, and never rushes you. It’s intimate in the right way, making it an excellent date spot. The bluefin tuna crudo sets the right opening note. Silky fish bathed in olive oil, bright citrus, a peppery finish that lingers. The kind of bite that reminds you how little needs to be done when the product is right. Absolutely unreal! We got married this past spring in Lisbon, Portugal and this meal made its way to the top Portuguese meal we have ever had! After having 50ish Pastel de Natas on the mainland and Madeira this Pastel goes above and beyond. The service was impeccable, the wine was perfection, and the food was absolutely delish! We are so happy we made the trek from San Diego to try Barra Santos. Thank you to the team that put together such a wonderful and yummy evening! We got the Scallop Crudo, Bifana, Piri Piri Chicken, Pastel de Natas, and the Passion fruit sorbet and would absolutely recommend everything — not one bite missed.

been wanting to go here for a while! showed up on a sunny day in early evening, got a spot at the bar. wow. everything was super super good. the tuna crudo was so tasty and fresh and citrusy. the fennel salad was crispy and tangy and creamy and so delicious. and the fritters were good and crispy but could’ve used a lil dip or something. excited to try more next time. everything was just as awesome as predicted and hyped.

Great location. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Food was very good and well seasoned. Little bit on the pricey end for what it is, but I blame the economy for that. Food is just expensive nowadays and running a restaurant isn't cheap. I will definitely be back.
