Barbacoa Ramirez

Went here on a Saturday morning. All parking is on public streets. Place was a little busy. The place is a pop-up set up in a neighborhood. The lamb is cooked at another location and brought here. I had a stomach, rib, cheek and lamb meat. Everything was cooked beautifully. The pancita was definitely my highlight. The meat is fatty and delicious. The consomé was full of flavor and fatty. Overall, a hidden gem. The workers were very nice and helpful. You can buy the whole head of the lamb to enjoy the meat in there. Highly recommend coming here.

Their customer service is amazing! 🤩 While you're waiting in line, they give you a free barbacoa taco made with a freshly handmade tortilla! 🌮 The barbacoa is the best in town, and their consomé tastes great. 💯

I've been looking for an excuse to stop here since the LA Times reviewed it extremely highly. (They almost never review this kind of eatery, which made it extra notable.) The barbacoa is delicious. It's soft and melts in your mouth, with amazing flavor. The freshly hand made tortillas are some of the best I've had and would stand by themselves if they had to. They appear to have (temporarily?) relocated a block away from their normal location, likely due to some construction. Just look for the giant "Barbacoa" sign.

Pancita, barbacoa, and consomme. Simple and so good!
