Banh Mi Ong Beo - Fairfax

I ❤️ Banh Mi Ong Beo! I’ve been here 4 times and each time its been spot on! I keep getting the #1 (their most popular one) + the combo drink. #awesome! I’m sad to read about the low reviews and yeah the atmosphere of the place and the workers is pretty CHILL so I have not minded if my order took longer than usual. Not ideal but I much prefer that to the hectic vibe at a chickfila or cane’s any time! The sandwich quality (bread, fillers, meats) has been pretty good each time. The drinks have also been pretty good (I tend to like things sweet). Will come back again when I’m near by! (Next Monday!) 🤭

The banh mi itself is already fantastic, but honestly the drinks are the most impressive to me. I’m not a coffee person so I can’t speak to that, but their fruit teas are without exaggeration the best I’ve ever had. There are plenty other places that serve fruit teas, but they’re often syrupy or have so many ingredients you lose any real flavor. The strawberry lime is my personal favorite - I have no idea how they do it but there’s a depth and subtlety to them that I just have never had anywhere else. The drinks come in reusable containers too - they’re not the most robust but I have three or four of them that I still use regularly. One cracked, but point is that you can get several usages out of them as opposed to other places that have single use containers. Their sandwiches also come in

Stopped in for the first time today and ordered the #4. While I took my sandwich to go, there are indoor and outdoor seating options. The meatballs were cooked perfectly and seasoned well, and there was a nice ratio of bread to meatballs to vegetables. I’m looking forward to trying more of their sandwiches and drinks in the future. Happy to see a new family owned business doing so well!

This place serves the best Banh Mi I’ve ever had! I got the grilled pork one. The flavors are so authentic, just like in Vietnam. The coffee is amazing too. Highly recommend!! 🙌

The combination Banh Mi was almost good. The meat and vegetable tasted fresh. However the sauce and pickle vegetable were overly sweet. It tasted like they sprinkled a spoonful of sugar on top of them. I felt grain of sugar in every bite. Vietnamese coffee could had used more condensed milk. Coffee tasted burn and grainy. The restaurant's decoration is nice but needs a bit of cleaning. It is not dirty but they clearly do not clean table after customer left.
