Ballard House Inn

This is a very pretty and very nicely maintained property with a gorgeous view of the hills and lake in the distance. A newly constructed deck in the rear of the property is about as peaceful as it gets, overlooking open fields bordered by thick forest. Our room on the second floor was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. The ceiling is very low, quite typical of the colonial architecture (it appears that the third floor may have been an addition, as it has a Mansard roof, yet the rest of the house is a 1784 Colonial).|The breakfasts were OK, nothing special. Very tasty homemade pumpkin muffins the first day, but store bought cinnamon rolls the second. The Ballard House has a special place in my heart for its historic roots and my memories of many vacations I stayed there during my childhood. I recently visited this lovely Inn, unannounced, with my extended family of 6 as we were in the area for a wedding. Darryl the new owner could not have been more receptive to our visit and allowed us to walk around to see the property which is absolutely amazing. The beauty of the Inn and surrounding landscape in Meredith NH will blow you away! Darryl even presented us with some homemade muffins which was such a nice gesture. I highly recommend this Inn for its location, ambiance, outstanding host, and lovely accommodations. Thank you Darryl for your gracious welcome.

The Ballard House Inn is a fantastic vacation destination!!! Darryl, the owner, is so gracious and friendly. His family who work with him are also such wonderful people ! Our room was great and so clean! The breakfast was delicious! The view from the back deck is spectacular! The common sitting rooms are cozy and beautiful! If you our vacationing in the lake Winnipesaukee area, stay at the Ballard House Inn, you'll be glad you did !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This stay and this Inn exceeded our expectations. It is perfectly located to be away from Meredith traffic but not far from restaurants, shopping, Weirs Beach and more. Simply a beautiful area. |The Inn is Historic and perfectly maintained. The management is very attentive and were gracious hosts. It was fun to breakfast with others from everywhere, having this type of stay experience in common. Our stay was memorable, convenient, ultra pleasant and a great value. Our only regret is that others will choose this Inn and make it unavailable when we wish to return.
