Customer Reviews
I ate here for lunch and I thought it was delicious! I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews here. They do serve a lot of rice, but you can always ask for "1/2 rice" and they won't give you so much. The price was very reasonable.
My family decided to try something different this evening, and choosing your own meal seemed like a fun thing to try. Upon entering the restaurant, we noticed it was clean, the hostess was extremely nice and knowledgeable, and the small and limited ingredient section looked fairly clean as well. This is where anything I have nice to say ends. There is no ambience whatsoever. Not even background music playing. As we awaited our food, we noticed everybody was eating out of takeout containers. I guess the concept of an actual dish is lost on this establishment. We eventually received our food, along with some beautiful plastic utensils, and chopsticks. We all dug in to the most bland and uninspired food I've ever had the misfortune of tasting in my entire life. I ordered mine for a spice leve
Good for a quick bite and you pay by the pound. Service is ok and the ambiance is a little dreary. You do get to watch the food be cooked kind of like hibachi. The sauces are tasty. I got the combo with the curry added and it was sliced well. One of those places you go back to every once in a while.
I have eaten Bali Hai for years now but I have to say food is not as good anymore and the price is out of control. The staff is nice but they weigh it after it has been cooked and add the rice. I believe if they were to do things the way they originally did years ago and had fair prices more people would come.
I went here on a whim of nostalgia— haven’t been to Bali Hai since the one in Raleigh burned down. The way they charge for the food changed and is no longer per bowl, it is per pound. The food was still decent, but it was disappointing how much rice they put into the take-out containers prior to weighing. It seemed like half the weight was due to the amount of rice.
