Baghdad Restaurant

Came here with my family today. Cute little restaurant, and the staff are very sweet. Many options on the menu, and amazing food. Great if you are looking for authentic Iraqi dishes. Will be back again :)

First time to eating at Baghdad, had had take out before but glad to enjoy their pleasant atmosphere. The portions are good for the price. The mixed shawarma tasted great with nice fluffy rice. Pita and sides were just okay though. All in all a nice meal.

I’d seriously come back just for their iced chai! As far as the food, I loved the mixed kabob plate. The chicken tikka and lamb tikka were excellent. The Iraqi kabob was great too, and tasted like beef and lamb mixed, not just beef. I definitely prefer the mix but the menu does just say beef. The kabobs were seasoned just right and grilled perfectly. The kabobs came with white rice and a seasoned rice that was more orange. I’ve had much more flavorful rice at other Iraqi restaurants (it’s usually yellow) but I was coming for the meat and didn’t plan to eat all the rice anyway. Not bad at all just not super flavorful. I had forgotten my wallet while I was on a short lunch break and the chef had generously provided the chicken shwarma lunch special for free. Even if they hadn't been so kind, I would have sung their praises to everyone I met but now, I feel its only fair to give a public review. This place is everything you would ever want out of a good restaurant. The inside is comfortable, spacious, and has a warm energy that makes you want to sit down. The people who run this are extremely hospitable and it even attracts friendly diners. The food? Oh god, the food. The shwarma tastes like it was made with love, the jasmine rice is perfectly cooked, and this might be the first place in all of Colorado I've found who has had the good sense to put sumac on hummus. Highly recommend if you love Middle Eastern food! Generous portions of meats, veggies, rice, dolmas, garlic, olives, hummus, coleslaw, etc was delicious and the employees were friendly.
