Back Street Cafe

Christine and I are staying in this small town overnight. This restaurant was suggested to try out the pork chops. Well let me tell you WOWZA the chops very good . Christine had the chops and I had the ribs and butter beans and Mac and cheese. So darn good.

You know it’s a good restaurant when the owner is in the kitchen working even when it gets busy. And the food is just bursting with flavor. Excellent every time we’ve been there.

Small town home cooked meals sure to please. The burgers, mozzarella sticks, cheesesteak, and fried chicken sandwiches were all very good. Unfortunately it was hot in the restaurant despite being cloudy outside so that’s the reason for the three star for the atmosphere. I will be back…just not for dine in when it’s hot.

We were full and very happy. I'm sure Loris is very proud to have the Back Street Cafe in their town. The food and service were spectacular. The prices are extremely reasonable. I did have the fried pork chop and it was delicious. The portion sizes are enormous. I will defiantly be saving room for dessert the next time I dine at Back Street Cafe.

We stopped in for dinner last night just before 7:00. It was a full house when we arrived, but cleared out fairly quickly with the exception of us and three other tables. I think there are a total of nine tables in the restaurant? There was only one server. Our drinks and dinner order were taken in satisfactory time, but we waited an honest 50 minutes for our entrees (smothered chicken and a burger.) Meanwhile a table of three who arrived AFTER us were served BEFORE us. We were nothing but patient and didn't even get an apology for the long wait time. A lot of shouting and laughing coming from the kitchen while we sat and waited. It was just inexcusable. For that reason I cannot say we'll be back or can recommend. 🤷🏼‍♀️
