Ayo African Restaurant bar and lounge

When I tell you this food was good as hell it was good as hel, Finger licking good! We were from out of town and I give this place a 20 if you're in the area stop by and please try that Pineapple juice with the ginger and mint OMG!!

The Egusi soup with catfish, jollof rice and fufu are all really good. I absolutely love the Efo Riro with croaker fish and the Okoro soup. Whew, that's some good eating. :) The customer service is always great and look forward to going back really soon to try some other things from the menu that sound good. I love okra and the Okoro did not disappoint. So good. If you haven't tried West African food, please do and mad that I'm just now getting started, however better late than never!

I’m going to be constructive in my review. I have been patronizing Ayo kitchen for years now. Food used to be great. However, of recent especially my experience on Friday, leaves a lot to be desired. I came in to dine in, ordered Okra soup with goat meat. When my order came, the okra soup looked and tasted bland and in the plate was two pieces of goat meat. I noticed one was all bones with just little meat (hide) on it. I immediately asked Ayo to please change the bony piece of meat to proper meat, she ignored me, murmured and stayed in the back kitchen for more than 20 minutes. Several times I asked Emeka who works with her if Ayo was going to respond to my request, and he kept saying that she will come out shortly to honor my request. Disappointedly, she never did. I then asked her again

The atmosphere was very homey. My 1st time having African food and I was amazed at all the flavors that danced in my mouth. Fish was smoked and goat was perfect. Healthy choice to any culture!!!! I’ll be back!!!

First time trying Ayo and the food is very delicious. I would 100% recommend this spot to all my African food lovers and for anyone that wants to try African food.
