A&W Restaurant

Road Trips and Good Times. I grew up in a small Midwest town that had an old-school A&W Root Beer stand right in the center of town. It was the hangout spot after football games and Saturday night cruises on Main St., and to this day A&W is still one of my favorite root beers. Most of my family now lives in Knoxville, TN, and when I drive up from Florida, I take backroads just to enjoy small-town America. Years ago on one of those drives, I stumbled across Madisonville, TN, which still has an original A&W drive-in. I didn’t even hesitate to stop in because I knew the root beer was going to be great as always. Ever since, it’s become a tradition. Every trip to Knoxville includes a stop at this A&W, even if I fly in. My family teases me for making a 50-minute drive “just” for root beer, b

We take a road trip to come here once a month. It's a nostalgic roadside car hop restaurant. Eating here brings back memories of our childhood. Good food, good service and good value for the money.

I unknowingly came during happy hour. So my food was cheaper. The BLT was great! Bacon cooked perfectly! And the onion rings were also good. Very friendly staff also!

Very good service chicken sandwich was good rootbeer float 😋

Super tasty root beer floats! 2nd Saturday of each month they have an antique car drive in and you can see all kinds of nice cars.
