Avon Free Public Library

I've been taking my children here for about 7 years now, and the children's floor is fantastic. There's plenty to do, and often some kind of art / song time hour going on. The staff is wonderful and helpful, and clearly put a ton of effort into making the library a welcoming and enriching place for young people. (Also: my kids are too young for the teen area, but it looks AWESOME.) If you're looking for something fun to do with your kids this summer, I can't recommend our library enough 👍

Staff was rude and unhelpful. Came in with my wife to get library cards and we were refused them because we live one town over. Didn't care they wasted our time. Won't be going back.

There’s a lot of good staff here, books, and a children center here which is amazing.

This review is specifically for the kids section on the second floor. I've read reviews that they had a huge section designated for kids, so I had to check it out. Once you walk in from the parking lot, take an immediate right up the stairs (I don't know if there is an elevator). This floor was huge! Biggest kid section I've seen. The Teens room had their own room. There were multiple study rooms which is pretty awesome, I haven't seen those in the libraries I've been to in the past. There's an art studio as well. The kids/preschool section was nicely decorated. The books were organized and they seem to have a huge collection of childrens books. We moved here from out of state and Avon Public Library is one of our kids favorite places! The library is always fully staffed, and everyone I talked to so far has been very helpful and friendly. They have plenty of seating for grown ups, so I can bring my laptop and work while the kids are browsing for books or playing. This isn’t just a library, it’s a play center! My kids love to read and love the fact that we aren’t limited to how many books we can check out at once. During the summer they have free shows for kids every week, and they’re actually well organized, educational, and fun! We feel so lucky to have access to this library. It’s one of the best we’ve ever seen.
