Avenue Subs Key Largo

Let’s start by saying I’m a Jersey transplant. I was probably fed a sub (hoagie) before my first birthday. So when I tell you this is a GREAT sub, trust me, I know what I’m talking about. Let’s start with the roll. It’s usually all about the roll. In NJ/Phila it’s the iconic Amorosa rolls. Mr. C’s (Avenue) rolls make the sandwich. The thin sliced meats and cheese on the Italian sub laid overlapping in the middle of the sandwich. It wasn’t as messy as I thought it would be for car-ride late lunch eating. It held together well. Ate every bit and we usually throw away half the roll on other subs. Not this sub!! We tried the Italian and the tuna. Tuna was excellent. Just enough mayonnaise to hold it together. If you like onions- ask for extra. Cheese is standard not an extra. Highly recommend

Great sub shop and service! Italian sub was on point and loved how the fresh bread was warm. Highly recommend this local sub shop and they also have pizza etc. Will try that next time.

We stopped on our drive from Naples and it was a great decision! Perfect bread and a great ratio of meat, cheese, and toppings! The staff was great and welcoming. I’d stop here again the next time I’m passing thru.

Man this place is amazing! I got a turkey 12” sub with bacon. They loaded me up with turkey and it is simply delicious. Nick, the owner, was super nice and talked about his dad opened the first Avenue Subs in New York 60 years ago. Check this place out.
