Austin Street Cottages

My husband and I stayed in the Romantic Haven suite behind the main cottage. Charming place with plenty of room. The kitchen area had everything we needed, small fridge, coffee pot and cutlery. We were so glad to find wine glasses because we forgot to bring some! Wonderfully comfortable bed! Pretty sitting areas outside. Everything is well maintained and clean. It's located within easy walking distance of the main shops and restaurants. We were given coupons for the Bayou Bakery for breakfast and it was fantastic. A wonderful visit and we look forward to coming back!

The location of this cottage is perfect but it is in need of some TLC. I don’t like to write bad reviews but I booked this place based on decent reviews. It looks like it was very cute at one time several years ago but is not maintained. There is no breakfast and parking is difficult if both units are booked.

This place has potential but it needs some TLC. It's more like a fishing cabin than a cottage. It's old, a bit run down and untended. We had to call when we got there to figure out where our room was and how to get in. The main address is a closed up house with an auction sign out front. It isnt remotely a B&B. There is no breakfast offered, no firepit set, its literally a rustic cabin. Very rustic. When we did call - for instructions and an extra blanket, and to find out where the breaker box was when the heater wouldn't come on - the lady who answered was very pleasant and responsive. It is in the historic district. Very convenient. It just needs to be upgraded and taken care of.

The location of this cottage is great, (why i rated it a two) without the consideration of the location it would be a 1. The property is in definite need of upkeep and upgrades. Stayed in the rustic retreat cabin and it just felt dark, smelly, and dusty. Too much clutter and dust. There was a dusty fake Christmas tree half done in the kitchen area??? In July? I was afraid to sleep in the bed before checking for bugs and the bed sagged really bad! There is no place to hang clothes. There is a cabinet but it was full of other stuff. Carpet in the bathroom....Enough said,... There was a sink and fridge "area " (old closet). Everything seemed so dingy, cheap and thrown together. Cute cute cute!!!!! Comfy !!!! had to park in mud but hey ,they just had a hurricane blow through It did not take away from a private clean affordable bed and breakfast!!!! It's a hidden gem! Walking distance from downtown Jefferson ,Texas. Perfect stay! Loved the claw foot tub !
