Augie & Ray's Drive In

I’ve lived in East Hartford since 1998 & I went to Augie & Rays for the 1st time this month (Aug 2025) Now..my husband & I are foodies so don’t get upset with this review. The first thing we ordered was the Turkey Grinder & all the fixings..delicious..so delicious that I’ll never go to Subway again..but here’s the 2nd half of my review: Today (8/27/25) I wanted to try out their breakfast..it was a complete fail. Bread sopping with butter, spicy sausage that I thought it was pepperoni & the potatoes weren’t good. Remember I’m a foodie which means I go around to several restaurants & taste & rate everything. So I’m thinking, maybe it’s great for most men to eat the breakfast especially if they’re single or can’t / won’t cook but I wouldn’t recommend the breakfast. I will go back to try othe

I like local places with history, good food, and great people and Augie & Ray's is exactly that. The guy that took our order was super friendly and the hot dogs were really good. I recommend the chili dog. No lingering aftertaste. The grilled rolls are fantastic. I will definitely be back.

I’ve been going to Augie and Ray’s for 55 years now all through my childhood. This is a great place to get freshly made food right in front of you. The people that work here are friendly and hardworking. I ordered a hotdog and Coke today. I love their cheese burgers, clams, and fish and chips. One of the best fish sandwiches around.

I've been going to Augie & Ray's for over 50 years. Nothing has changed. The chili dogs and burgers are absolutely the best. We could eat their every day! Everyone is so friendly, and you get your food so fast. Don't miss Augie & Ray's!

I have only tried the breakfast sandwiches but I keep going so thats speaks for its self. The sausage is different (in a good way) as it's sliced and has a nice spice to it. Bacon,sausage, egg and cheese add hashbrown patty is my goto!
