Athens Grille

I had read an article on the resilience of the owners of this restaurant and how they had to rebuild after Helene. I live about 1:15 mins away but had placed a note to eat here and support a small business on our way up to the WNC mountain cabin we rented. Well I highly recommend everyone adding this little gem to their list to try! From the time I walked in the lady at the front was super nice and super friendly. She said their subs/ hoagies were a best seller. I ordered the steak and cheese with onions, lettuce and tomato. I ordered potato salad as my side. I also ordered a large well done hamburger patty for my pups that was huge and cooked perfect! My sub was amazing! Large and delicious! I could only eat half and ate the other half for supper. I seen the owner and he spoke

Under 10 minute wait. Very friendly staff. Been eating here for a looonnng time and they continue to have some of the best subs I've ever had. Enjoyed the BLT sub today and it was DELICIOUS. As always. Very happy y'all came back from the flood!! Thank you!

A disappointment. The service was fine, but the meat in my chicken gyro was gristly and overcooked, and the side of coleslaw was totally meh. The decor is gas station basics with an attempt at humorous signs on the wall. I was hoping that since they reopened after Helene they would be worth visiting. Alas. 🫤

We enjoyed our Greek food in Athens Grille. We had Gyro Platter, Hot Dogs and Baklava. Nice location near the interstate, clean, quality food and great service by Jenny. Also, good value

It remains it remains the simple pasta sandwich place in Swannanoa. They reopened in The breakfast shoppe because their restaurant was devastated in the hurricane The staff was so nice I had a burger It was delicious and affordable
