Asahi Sushi

I recently visited Asahi Sushi and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. After placing our order, we waited nearly three hours for the sushi to come out, which was extremely frustrating, especially since the restaurant was not overly busy. We were repeatedly told that our food would be ready soon, but it never arrived in a reasonable amount of time. When the sushi finally came to the table, it did not meet expectations at all, and all the sushi was not cooked, it was raw. Which was disgustingly my. The texture and temperature made it seem like the food was not prepared properly. After waiting that long, we expected much better quality and attention to detail. Overall, the service and food quality did not justify the time or money spent, and I hope the restaurant improves its

The food and sushi is amazing. However i have been here multiple times and it was not as bad as tonight. Usually the service is fast and efficient, however tonight was busier and it was not good. We did not get plates and utensils for 20+ minutes. We never got the appetizers we ordered. Once we got our sushi one roll was missing and came 15 minutes late, when we attempted to order another roll we waited another 15 minutes and they said that roll was never put in.

It’s an Americanized version of raw fish eatery, the Sashimi is noteworthy. 👎👎👎 BUT the seafood called rolls CANNOT / MUST NEVER BE CALLED SUSHI, ESPECIALLY THE ONES DOUSED IN SAUCE. *** Sushi is clean simple cuts of fresh fish. And the rice would be Tamanishiki or Koshihikari premium varieties of short-grain rice. The amount of rice would be minimal and the FISH IS KING. *** Real Sushi Rolls are always wrapped in Nori, NO SAUCES. The place is an all-you-can-eat concept, which draws quite a crowd. There’s a menu sheet on which one ticks what one wants. 👍 The one good thing about the menu is that there’s nothing of that horrid cheese so common in raw fish eateries in America. 🫤🫤🫤 the tricky thing are rolls, several are doused in sauces… SO TO REALLY SAVOR THE FLAVOR OF FISH, INSIST ON

This was the worst sushi buffet I had... the eel was sour and dry, the fish is a weird color as you can see on the picture. IDK how people eat here I'm worried about food poisoning. the appetizers were weird as well.. green dumplings and literally udon with sauce and no soup 🤢🤢🤢 service and atmosphere good but food is no go

The best AYCE sushi spot in Bergen County by far. I always have a very favorable opinion of the AYCE joints that include sashimi on the menu as they are quite rare. Asahi is a rare gem. Fish quality is pretty much standard to its competition and it's AYCE so I won't dive into that too much. The rolls were decent, nothing to write home about but complemented the sashimi well. I visited on Friday night and there was about a 15 minute wait. The fact that it's BYOB I think certainly helps with its popularity but the atmosphere was pretty lively, Asahi appears to be the hot spot in Norwood. Will visit again!
