Applebee's Grill + Bar

We came into Applebee’s as a family of eight on a snowy winters night. We were stuck at the hotel in Owatonna. There was an actual blizzard and the interstate was closed down. The restaurant was not very busy, the hostess was super friendly and the waitress that we had was also fun to talk with and joke around with. The food was OK, we weren’t a huge fan of some of the specialty meals that we ordered. Applebee’s is always good for a quick family get together!

Sandwich was good, but just like all the other Applebee's, the fries were barely warm and tasted like they were from yesterday. Bobby, our host/server/bartender was amazing! I was there with two 9 year old boys that just finished a hockey game. He was attentive and had good conversation with all of us while he was still taking care of to go orders and drinks. Overall, nice, clean restaurant. Staff was friendly and polite. Food was good, minus the fries.

I was not going to write a review but after reading someone else's review regarding the steak, I thought I would let people know...DO NOT ORDER STEAK! Like the review below, the 6 oz did taste like a porkchop and I ordered it medium rare and it came out over cooked. The staff was really awesome and brought out the 8 oz, which was medium rare but tasted like hamburger. Now that I think about what was said about the 6 oz steak, I am glad I did not eat it. I was told (by the manager) that no one really orders the 6 oz, so they just sit there. WHAT? Does this mean that they are old and rotten? It did not smell good. We won't be back. Again...our waiter was awesome!

It's been a little over two years since we've been to our local Applebee's. We had an absolutely Fantabulous experience this evening! Tyler our server was very attentive and had great recommendations for non alcoholic beverages and sides. They were very busy when we got there but that didn't stop him from checking in, in a polite fashion. Our food came in a timely manner, got and perfectly cooked. The whole staff was amazing! Thanks Applebee's!

I met my wife for a quick lunch at Applebees yesterday. I had the sirloin. It was a very enjoyable experience. Knowing it was my turn to cook dinner, I even ordered some extra tortilla soup to warm up for dinner! Obviously the weather is challenging and the work force environment for restaurants is challenging! But the manager even took time and stopped by our table to chat. Hats off to Cassandra, Coleen, Sarah among others to show up and give 5 Star service,
