I will give credit where it is due, the red snapper fried was pretty decent, and the salad and dressing was okay but the jollof rice was a waste. I was fooled with the big metal container that came out. I would not spend $44. here again. I am really beginning to think I will need to make my own West African food how I want it.
Great Ghanan food. The meat in the jolof rice was super tender and it was very flavorful. However, they are very understaffed and naturally struggle to cater when there is a big crowd. Nevertheless, the servers are very kind and sweet. They deserve a lot, admin should consider increasing servers for better service!
With classic Ghanian dishes included and the vibe friendly enough for a good conversation, this establishment had many options for every dish on the menu such as vegan, beef, chicken, fish, goat, and oxtail, ranging from $22 to $25 as standard price points. The food here is very authentic and has been approved by many of my West African friends living in the DMV area. My friends and I decided to order one kind of each dish along with one kind of each side so we can try a bit of each. The okra soup was a bit too spicy for my taste, but it contained a lot of flavor, which could be neutralized a bit by the fufu that I ordered. The peanut butter soup was very creamy and flavorful. The jollof was a bit plain, but since the spinach stew was flavorful, it was all good. The wings seemed like an o
Listen, this place is amazing. My wife and I got fufu (she got pepper soup, I got peanut butter soup) and it was sooo good! Our waitress CynCere was an absolute joy. We had such good conversation with her and she completely made our experience 💜 we will definitely be back on our trips to DC.
Me and me girls had a fabulous experience, our waitress was very friendly and patient with our ignorance with the menu. The mango ginger margarita that was recommended was amazing!! They ran with 2 waitresses that ran the entire establishment and hustled hard. There will be a wait for food but that’s how you know it’s fresh. Portions are huge and price is very reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant. Be patient if they’re busy the flavor explosion is worth the wait.
