Ansonia Soup Company at the Rock

Stopped for lunch while driving through on a road trip, and it was the perfect stop! They had one TV monitor in the main dining area that was only playing music (iHeart Radio Christmas Classics, which I thought was nice), so it was a calm atmosphere (not overstimulating). They also had all kinds of kids' art on display which was cute. I thought the napkin holders were so cute (pictured). The servers were attentive though short-staffed, but it was 2 days before Christmas. You can ask for soup samples before ordering, which I appreciated. I ordered Karen's Brunswick Stew which had good flavors, meat, veggies, and tomatoes. I could definitely taste the Worcestershire sauce in the stew, but it was not too much. They went above and beyond — opening the restaurant after hours just for us, preparing an amazing meal, and even creating a special dessert that was absolutely perfect. The owner and our wonderful waitress made the evening truly special with their kindness, warmth, and attention to detail. It wasn’t just dinner — it was an experience filled with love, laughter, and friendship. Ansonia Soup Factory is a gem — great food, great atmosphere, and very fair prices. If you haven’t been there yet, do yourself a favor and visit. It’s a place that cares about people as much as it does about good food. Thank you again

You HAVE to eat here if you’re anywhere near Rockingham! This is a no-kidding scratch kitchen with a rotating menu that is to die for. Five stars across the board, our waitress Jana was absolutely wonderful and the atmosphere is fabulous. They had the prettiest Christmas tree, the entire menu is wonderful (and picky toddler approved!). Prices are competitive, excellent value, will eat here again.

Best lunch in ages! The service was second to none. Thank you, Carson!! Chef Monica came to our table and was an absolute pleasure. We look forward to many more awesome meals here. Stopped in for lunch today and tried their Chinese egg roll soup and it was SO GOOD. The flavors were literally dancing in my mouth. And that bread that came with the soup?!?! Omg so damn tasty. The staff member I encountered was very sweet and accommodating. I would definitely return and try the flight next time so I can try their other options. Thank you for a great lunch ladies!
