Angler Fish Market & Chowder

Every time I go to visit family, it is mandatory I go here to eat. This is the best seafood spot I know of hands down. Everything is excellent!

I writing this review with the understanding that takeout seafood isn't the most recommended option for takeout foods (hence 2 stars and not one) But I would have expected a lot more from a restaurant especially with their reputation. If you can't do takeout correctly, please don't offer it as an option. This was our "fancy"Christmas Eve dinner while our entire family gathered. We were told to pick up at 2:15, we were there at 2:20, apologize for being a little late and had the food out and ready to eat at 2:30. When we got home, opened everything up, every appetizer, soup , and entrees were extremely cold and not just cold, they were mushy and soggy. Not room temp cold, but probably was cooked around noon or came right out of a refrigerator. Everything had to be microwaved or heated up on

The mixed vegetables are not microwaved bullshit but have lovely flavor and are roasted. This is not a fancy place but a great place to go for good seafood. Mixed drinks are really good. The cranberry old fashioned is good. I loved the chill vibe with the old school music. Half-shell oysters are fresh and delicious. My wife inhaled the fried whole belly clams, so they must have been good. Update. I posted before I had dessert. Rookie mistake. Dessert choice is difficult. It all sounds good. I had the peanut butter pie with peanut butter ice cream. Wow.

I have had the pleasure of dining at Angler Fish Market & Chowder on multiple occasions, and each experience has been nothing short of delightful. It's become my go-to destination for seafood in the city. Their Wednesday special of $1 raw oysters is an unmissable deal, though it's sad to note that the $1 shrimp cocktail is no longer on the menu. However, even at its regular price of $24 a dozen, their shrimp cocktail remains a compelling offering. The shrimp are exquisitely prepared—crunchy yet chewy, offering that ideal textural balance seafood aficionados yearn for. But let's not forget the Lobster Alfredo—a masterclass in moderation. Dinner with family. Amber was our server and she was quick efficient and friendly. Wednesdays they offer raw oysters at $1 each. Our meals were blackened cajun cod, fried whole clams, lamb shank (pne of the specials) and oysters. Everything was delicious. Desserts were chocolate lava cake, carrot cake, tiramisu and creme brule doughnut (also one of the specials) Oh the coffee could have been stronger, overall it was a great dining experience. Will go again.
