Wow. I've never been to an Indian restaurant this posh before -- the moment I walked in I was like, "woah." The space is absolutely beautiful, which explains why reservations are so hard to come by. I somehow snagged a last-minute outdoor reservation for four, but three more people joined us at the last minute. When we arrived, I asked a gentleman who looked like the manager if we could move indoors because it was cold. Even though they were very busy, he found us indoor seats in a perfect spot -- we definitely got lucky. We were a party of seven, half of us vegetarian. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share, and everything was great, but the vegetable biryani stole the show for me. I don't come from India, so take this from a non-native -- it was hands down the best veggie biryani I've ev

We went to Anantara for dinner with kids. The ambience was nice. It has a nice upscale vibe to it. Soft lighting and spacious indoor seating. There is also a little outdoor sitting area too and they have heaters for this area to keep your dining experience warm. The heaters were fully adjustable and worked well. The staff was polite and seated us promptly. As for food, overall, all the dishes were flavorful and of a good serving size. I wouldn't say this was the best tasting south Indian food but it was enjoyable. I would recommend this place for a cosy outing with friends or family. One more thing - they charge 20% service charge for a party of 5 or more. (Total adults, not children.)

We had a fantastic experience celebrating a birthday at Anantara in Pacific Commons! The ambience is lovely, and the staff are genuinely friendly and attentive. They went above and beyond by providing a complimentary dessert for the birthday celebration and even took pictures for us - such thoughtful touches! Starters: The Tender Jack Cutlet (tender jackfruit, sweet potatoes, beets, tamarind-date chutney) was absolutely top notch. For Valentine's Day, they made them heart-shaped, which was adorable! Highly recommend this dish. The Inji-Puli Lotus Root was one of the most amazing lotus root dishes we've ever had. The lotus root medallions were marinated in a tangy ginger-tamarind glaze and had a lovely sweet, fluffy texture. We also tried a fried chicken dish from their special Valentine

Anatara: Next-Level South Indian Cuisine is Hiding in Plain Sight in Fremont! As a local, I'm honestly kicking myself for not discovering Anatara sooner! My party of three managed to snag a reservation for lunch on Thanksgiving Day, and thank goodness we did. The place was bustling, but the service was incredibly attentive and top-notch, even with the holiday rush. The interior is beautiful, spotless, and nicely decorated, setting such a great, comfortable vibe. Starters That Stole the Show: We started strong with three appetizers that were seriously delicious. * The Railway Cutlets were adorable heart-shaped perfection, perfectly spiced and incredibly tasty. * We devoured the super yummy Gunpowder Idli Bites served with a coconut chutney that was dangerously good. * The Crab Podimas was
