Anacortes Public Library

One of the best libraries in Washington State. It has a room full of very affordable second hand books for sale managed by Friends of the Libraries. There are some free books and magazines as well. Also, there is a a shelf of canned goods for th3 needy displayed right before the inner entrance. The restrooms are clean. The whole library area is super clean and has the comfortable, warmth ambience. All the personnel are pleasant and helpful.

The resources this library makes available to children and their caregivers are great! What a wonderful shared facility for the community with great staff ready to help.

Fantastic staff and a very cozy atmosphere. I love the modern look and feel of the building. However, the noise level can be a real issue. I come here to study and read,like most people do in a library,but it’s often difficult to focus. On Saturdays, especially, there are lots of kids running around, screaming, and yelling, sometimes right next to you. It is actually quite irritating when you're deep in a study sesh. Additionally, some visitors (not staff) treat the library as a social hangout, walking up to random people who are reading or studying to chat and crack jokes completely unprompted. My visit to the library allowed a first-hand look at the community's most valuable resource. Spacious, plenty of windows, comfortable seating, and abundant items to borrow. My good friend did much of the interior finish construction, which personalized my visit. For the brief time I spent inside this well-appointed public library, I left knowing that the residents of Anacortes had evidence of the best use of taxpayer dollars! Enthusiastically recommended.

This library is the biggest treasure in Anacortes! Our family loves to spend time here and truly appreciates all the helpful, friendly staff, and fun family programs!
