Amsterdam Hometown Cafe, LLC

This was our first time here and our expectations were really high. We had heard of it and finally got a chance to try it out. The waitress whom I believe to be an owner was very nice and friendly. The atmosphere and decor was great. Very clean and well kept. It’s of course located on a quaint little Main Street full of cool shops. The starter salads were great. The sweet tea was good. I thought it could use a-little more sweet. We ordered the fried mushrooms and they were good but nothing great. My smoked sausage was really good but just not my personal favorite flavor. The macaroni and cheese was really lacking on cheese. The potato salad was real good. The speedy beans were pretty good as well. Rode the Harley down from Kansas City area just to eat at the Amsterdam Cafe, and it was well worth the trip! Great food in a nice, hometown atmosphere! Planning next trip already to get here early enough for breakfast!! UPDATE!!! WE HAD BREAKFAST, and it did not disappoint! FINAL Update Aug 2024... Sadly we found out today the Amsterdam Cafe will be permanently closing...it will be missed by all who enjoyed their breakfast pie or mouth watering chicken! We thank the owner and wish him all the best!!!! (places like his are true gems!!)

Outstanding food and fair price. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and the servers were outstanding. It’s clean and comfortable. I’m looking forward to a return visit.

Went here for Valentines day today and it was Awful! They didn't have any baked potatoes for the sweetheart steak deal, they brought the wrong salad dressings, they didn't offer an appitizer, they were out of Dr Pepper, The katsup bottle was gross, they brought the wrong steaks, The steaks were tough and almost inedible. We will never go back. We're local and we said we would never go back the lat time, This time we mean it!

We had the breakfast buffet. The food was good. The service was not the best but fine. I think they were overwhelmed with the amount of people that came to an event. I would however give the place another go.
