Literally the coolest library I’ve been in yet! The front half is so cool inside and out, the staff is helpful and kind even to outta towners! Must check out, no pun intended if ever in the area!
Absolutely warrants a stop if you are around the area. We were on our way to the Mount Holly Marsh Preserve for a hike and made it a point to pay it a visit. We were so glad we did. The library was named after Amelia S Givin, obviously the benefactress of the library and a woman in the paper industry ahead of the time which was dominated by men. The library is constructed in Richardsonian Romanesque architecture, built with bricks and brown stones. Inside one can see "groups of semicircular arched windows, intricate carvings, and a semicircular apse". The latter is my favorite room, sporting 2 wheeled ladders attached to the rail on the wall. This is a great place to admire, reflect, and enjoy a quality quiet time.
The most charming little library!! My husband and I will be back often. We are so happy that we live so close to this gem! The librarians are also very nice and helpful in their book recommendations. Our favorite library by far!
What a cozy, charming library! My friend and I came here to browse a bit on a quiet afternoon. The building itself is so fascinating and has a lot of historical character, and the collection here is quite varied. I found a wonderful assortment of historical fiction, classics, mysteries, and non-fiction crafting books. The librarian who helped us check out was very kind and friendly to us and the other patrons. The best part of our visit by far, however, was using the rolling bookshelf ladder to explore the higher shelves— what a fun feature!
We LOVE this library!!! The librarians truly care and have made the effort to get to know my kids and I. Their kids programs are awesome and they have been so creative during covid times in how to serve the community and help the kids have things to do! And to top it all off, the building looks like a castle and has so much history!
