Amato’s Pizza & Pasta

Nice guy runs this place. I’m happy they’re still in business. It’s not far off I-95, and it’s great not having to get off in New Haven. If you’re driving from Boston to NYC, this is a perfect place to stop. This photo was taken in 2018, just after they opened. The pizza was a little heavy on the cheese, but other than that it great.

Amato’s has the best pizza outside of New Haven, in my opinion! I enjoy watching the One Bite videos and have tried all the spots around Madison, and this one is my absolute favorite. I often mix it up and order a different pie each time I order from here and it’s always delicious. My wife often orders the tomato and fresh garlic pie on a gluten free crust which may produce the best aroma of any pizza in the world! I highly recommend Amato’s if you want a delicious and consistent pizza experience.

I'm from Virginia and with this being my first Connecticut pizza, I was impressed. I love the thin crust and the flavor of the sauce was so good! I liked that you picked up your to go food at the window and didn't have to go inside.

Fantastic pizza! Had the cheese, mashed potato, wings and tenders and all delish. Mashed potato pizza was one of the best around, perfect balance of ingredients. Thanks y’all!
