I went to this restaurant with my cousins who are local to San Francisco. We really enjoyed the food and service. Cool vibes, good food and friendly staff. I was able to find a ample vegetarian options at this restaurant. I would highly recommend it. I would definitely visit again in future .

An evening at Amarena offers a quiet celebration of Italian cuisine in the heart of San Francisco. We dined indoors, though the inviting outdoor space appears well suited for larger gatherings on warmer evenings. The meal began with warm bread accompanied by a fragrant basil pesto, ideal for dipping. This was followed by a thoughtfully curated trio of shared starters - arugula salad, burrata, and bruschetta - each understated in presentation yet full of flavor. For the main course, the carpaccio , sea bass, house-made truffle mushroom tagliolini, and ossobuco stood out for their balance and depth, reflecting careful technique and restraint. A bottle of Sangiovese complemented the meal beautifully. Dessert provided a graceful finale- a classic affogato alongside gelato drizzled with cherrie

This was a fantastic meal with A+ service. Cozy vibes and super delicious. We loved the lamb shank and orecchiette for mains and the fritura misto and burrata for dessert. The pasta was obviously hand made and so so fresh. Tiramisu and chocolate salami for dessert too! Great wine list as well. Nice range of prices and options. You’ll have a great time for sure. Enjoy!

Atmosphere is great for a night out, food less so. Pasta dishes lack flavor, with the best thing on the menu being the bread with house made dipping sauce. Worth visiting to grab drinks, but for pasta would also try elsewhere.

Found this spot on my way to catch the sunset walk and absolutely glad to try it out eventually! All the way from ambience (especially during sunset glow) to food and service were all on point. We tried Bruschetta, Madeira sauce pasta and butternut squash ravioli, loved all of them! Point to be noted: butternut squash ravioli is tad bit on sweeter side, but our amazing Server (shoutout to Alex) kept us informed from the beginning! Owner, Paulo, took time to chat with us. Overall, extremely homely place. Would be back for another round and tiramisu!
