Althea's Finger Lakes Tavern

We were on our way to Watkins and decided to try this place for lunch. So glad we did! Food was very good and the service was excellent. They have a lot of beers on draft and a nice menu selection. They also have outside eating. Also, it's short walk to the falls. If you're just passing through, definitely go walk over to the waterfalls.

This is the 2nd time we’ve been to Althea’s and it doesn’t disappoint. Adam was our server and in spite of being the only server and busy, he was SO friendly and attentive providing excellent service. We had their hot honey bone in pork chop and it was amazing! Outstanding beer selection and excellent cocktails. The vibe was casual and comfortable.

The restaurant boasts a unique cooking method that imbues their burgers, Is like a smoky, wood-fired flavor something like that , making them incredibly tender and flavorful. The grilled chicken was equally exceptional, offering a taste unlike anything I've had before. The friendly owner and the overall ambiance make this a must-visit. I can't wait to return!

Despite living barely a quarter mile away, we haven't been here more than a couple times. Decided to try again recently and probably will not be back - but it's not because of the food. It's the prices. We each got burgers, fries, and a beer and soda and it was $60 after tax, before tip. The food was decent - burgers well prepared, not tiny, the fries were good. Service was good. But that price is pretty ridiculous, even for 1/2 lb burgers. I mean... $8 just to upgrade the chips to sweet potato fries? Just way too much, even compared to similar places in the area (and even in Corning, of all places).

Great place! Small menu done very well! Even though the bar was mostly full and three tables occupied by several couples, the young woman working, managed being, hostess, serving staff, bartender and bus staff. Hopefully, they keep her. She's an asset. I wouldn't be surprised if she cooked some of the food too! But the burger was great, fries crispy, wings not overdone and drinks mixed well. What more could you want.
