A very interesting DC restaurant. All round an excellent meal. A little on the pricey side, so be prepared. The scallops were very good, as was the branzino. Very well cooked and presented very well. The short rib was also excellent. On desert the Tiramisu desert was recommended, it was good but not great. In summary an excellent place to have a great meal.
"Alhambra is a visual masterpiece tucked inside the St. Regis. From the stunning red salon to the historic architectural details, the lighting and design are a dream for anyone who appreciates a beautiful setting of the hotel but the restaurant has a some modern chairs seating. The Mediterranean-inspired menu is just as artfully presented—the seasonal flavors are fresh, bold, and perfectly executed. It’s the ideal spot for a sophisticated meal in the heart of DC when you want the atmosphere to be as memorable as the food, lamb n chicken are halal (plz do confirm before ordering) rack of lamb **** Aleppo Chicken ***** lobster on rice ***
We went on a weekday and enjoyed a drink in the lounge before dinner. It was a very quiet and peaceful dinner. Yaser was our server and he was very kind and welcoming. We ordered all appetizers and they were amazing. I highly recommend the wild mushroom hummus and the crab cakes. They bread that comes out with fig and date butter was so delicious! We didn’t get an itemized bill which would have been nice to see.
Had a very good meal previously, and we indulged in some orange wine, not for us, but was fun to try. The star and excellent dish of the night was the lamb.
