We did our taxes with Alfredo for 2023 tax filling, he messed up pretty bad and I can’t imagine anyway he could mess up more! To start, he mailed our documents to our previous address which we don’t have access to, write my name wrong, and don’t reply emails. When we meet in his office for the first time, he said “ no problem “ to everything, then he sent links for us to set up accounts. After that, he disappeared for couple months, when he finally reply to emails it’s already passed the tax filling deadline! And I have to constantly remind him to report things on my tax, and he would go like “ oh, I forgot.” Not surprised, he told me he filed an extension request for my taxes, which is a lie, now I got the penalty from IRS! He was supplied with my six pieces of tax information to process and calculate my return. My return was e filed in 02/24. Charged me $400. His calculation was that I was owed a refund of $2714. Great! Unfortunately his service of preparing my 1099 form was inadequate, and incorrect. Instead, because of his inability to do my taxes correctly I paid over $1100 dollars that was OWED to the IRS. How can there be such a discrepancy? My return wasn’t difficult for a CPA.
