Alchemy Bistro & wine Bar

Our experience was ludicrously bad. The only good things about our visit were the kind servers, the shared misery with other patrons, and the actual hilarity of how bad things were. I’m struggling to think if I’ve had a worse dining experience anywhere else in my life, but nothing comes to mind. I’ll preface this by saying: I don’t blame the wait staff at all. A sign in the front of the restaurant says “under new management” and it 100% shows. The staff did the best they could with being understaffed, over booked, and tried to give people a decent experience while actively running out of food. They were under-staffed for one of the busiest nights of the year (Valentine’s Day), and as a result service was some of the slowest I’ve ever experienced (we waited over an hour for our appetizer c

Fabulous restaurant in Port Townsend - Alchemy. Such delicious pasta pomodoro that we went back twice now for dinner and definitely planning more before I fly back to SF. The decor is so I treating in this historic building. Music 4 nights a week. Amazing service - they wrap your leftover bread in foil in the shape of a bird.

Wow I don't even know where to start. First when walking in this restaurant was the most aesthetically pleasing place ive ever seen. Perfect for instagram. There were even two little stuffed bears that were super cute. Despite coming in at a late hour with a large group of 8, the staff was extremely polite and welcoming. We had the chance of meeting the owner, she was so sweet and kind. Service was top notch and the food was also excellent. Usually when a restaurant passes out bread its cold and stale, however Alchemy exceeded my expectations, the bread was soft and had hints of sweetness and the butter smooth + not heavy. I would recommend the Angel Hair pasta and Lamb Bourguignon as they were delicious. I would refer this place for anyone who decides to visit the town of Port Townsend.

Overall okay place - food was tasty, but I feel like nothing super special! The tortellini dish and bruschetta were our favs of the night and i'd recommend ordering. The bar area is cool and has kind of a fun vibe and aesthetic to it. Our servers were great and very nice, did take a while to get our check at the end and it wasn't too busy, but after asking we got it right away. On a Saturday night we made a reservation, but would of been fine walking in! This place is suited for groups of all sizes.

We went on Valentines Day, with a reservation. It was not great. 1. Their website did not say there would be a set menu for the night, so we could not order the food we really wanted to eat. 2. The price was $200 for 2 people. 3. The amount of food was SOOOOOOO small. Literally, 2 bites of mashed potatoes and about 4 bites of steak. 4. The food tasted good, so that's the only positive. 5. The service was awful. On a special day that is completely booked, they should over staff. We had to ask for water, we only got our drinks after asking multiple times, and portions of the meal were being missed (like soup) at ours and other tables. I expected a lot more overall for the very high price tag.
