Akiro Hand Roll Bar

AKIRO is hands down one of the best sushi places I’ve been to. The quality of the fish was outstanding—fresh, perfectly cut, and full of flavor. Every roll was beautifully prepared and tasted incredible. A special shout-out to sushi chef Benjamin—he was just amazing. You can truly feel his passion and skill in every piece he prepares. His attention to detail and creativity made the whole experience unforgettable. If you love high-quality sushi and great service, AKIRO is a must-visit. Can’t wait to come back!

This is probably one of the best sushi places in Chicago hands down. Explosive flavors - such unique combinations - I was floored! Service is amazing! Michael at the sushi bar is extremely knowledgeable and such a pleasure to chat with. (Must get: unagi nigiri w dark chocolate but towards the end - it’s like desert!) Overall great experience - we will be back!

This Japanese and Peruvian Fusion Restaurant is a great addition to River North. The fish was incredibly fresh and there is a creative twist on almost everything on their menu. My favorites were the tuna tiradito, salmon truffle nigiri, tuna nigiri and the unagi nigiri. If you like hand rolls, I think the Acevichado, salmon and tuna were all wonderful.

so excited to have a nikkei handroll bar in river north! we went on sunday for early dinner, and it was a fantastic experience. our chef Michael & our server Carolina were outstanding - so friendly and attentive. the drinks were tasty, and the fish was fresh and delicious. their set of 6 handrolls for $39 is such a steal! definitely a place i’d bring friends from out of town to

Service was great. Food was hit or miss. Some items were too salty or the flavor profiles just didn't hit. The seating was so tight that you can barely eat without elbowing your seat neighbor. And for the love of sushi, please add hot beverages and coat check for the winter months.
