We have always wanted to try Aker and dined in on Valentine’s day! It was an amazing experience, they had a special curated menu for the occasion. The service was wonderful, server was friendly and attentive. They explained each dish as they served, each course was paced perfectly. The food was sooooo delicious, the nigiri just melted in my mouth - it was soooo good and I normally don’t favor nigiri. I think this has become one of my favorites in SLC - I appreciate intentional dining and you can feel that the chefs care about what they’re serving (which I feel is rare in Utah). It was a really nice atmosphere as well. Overall, I’m so pleased with my experience and will definitely be coming back.

Aker has set an incredibly high standard for dining in the heart of Salt Lake City. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear the team takes professionalism and customer care to another level. The staff is attentive, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making sure every guest has a great experience. What really stands out is the care the team puts into each visit. Most recently, they managed to sneak me in for a reservation over Valentine’s Day, which was no small feat. My party left with nothing but smiles and full stomachs. The food, service, and atmosphere all came together perfectly. Aker is a great example of what hospitality should look like. A thoughtful team, excellent service, and a dining experience that consistently delivers.

Had a great experience at Aker with some friends over the weekend. I loved the feel and design of the restaurant. We started with some cocktails and sushi. The sushi flavors were fantastic. I wish I remembered the names at the moment. I will definitely be back for the sushi again. We then had the Chilean sea bass and the wagyu steak. The sea bass was by far my favorite. Cooked to perfection and the sauce on top went well with the fish and mashed potatoes. Absolutely phenomenal. Only challenge we had was our server was not that attentive. We weren't checked on for very long periods. We had to stop a different server to get ours to come take our order. It won't stop us from coming back. All in all, glad to have found a great restaurant in salt lake!

One of the best meals I have ever had. I chose to do the chefs tasting menu and I was not disappointed. Starting off with the Wagu gyoza which was so flavorful. The texture and the taste paired so well. Next was the crispy rice and it was served with cilantro and that was a little wrinkle for me. But I just removed it and was so tasty. Just a tad hard to eat with my clump at chopstick hands. Then came the showstopper of the freshly grated wasabi. The sushi was so fresh tasting and the roll with strawberry was unexpected but one of the better rolls I have ever had. Then came the main attraction the Wagu steak. The broccolini was cooked perfectly with a bit of a crunch and it paired well with the homemade chimichurri but the steak was melt in your mouth perfect. Finally, to end the night I

The ambience creates a great setting for a special dining experience. The maguro is one of my favorite things I have ever eaten! I also tried the nigiri flight and it was superb. The rest of my party had the steak which I tried as well and was incredible. For appetizers we tried the gyoza (10/10), miso shrimp (10/10). The Oreo cheesecake is a must try!
