This place had incredibly delicious food and the server we had was very nice. Soursop juice was also fantastic. I know that if I was a local, I’d probably be a regular here xD
I recently stopped by this restaurant after noticing it while leaving somewhere else. I’ve always wanted to try fufu after seeing it online and wondering what it tastes like luckily, they had it! The man at the front counter was really friendly and suggested which dish to get. He even encouraged another staff member (I think she runs the related hair braiding company)who was also having fufu to sit and eat with me to show me how to enjoy it authentically apparently, you eat it with your hands. He also gave me a free tea which was delicious and water, which was a nice touch. I really enjoyed my first time having fufu and would consider returning in the future. Just a heads-up: the fufu is a bit pricey, starting around $20, and if you want goat meat instead of beef or chicken it’s an extra
The food was mid. I wasn't impressed especially for the lunch special. That beef stew was dry and too damn chewy. Those rice beans were as well. It wasn't flavorful and that beef samosa was not even it. I only tried them out because a friend of mine said it was good. I'm still making up for my $18 difference for that. Plus it smells like fish in there as well. Nice people nice service just not my style or time. Never again will I go there. Thank you but no thank you.
Okay, so I've tried a few different African spots, this place hands down, best one. I got the egusi soup chicken with fufu. It was the best one that Ibe tried, also really good portions.
Where do I start? I was amazed and impressed with the food served here. This was my first time having Haitian empanada and I must say it was amazing! My main course was the stew beef, rice and peas with fried plantains. Just typing this review I could still taste the vast amount of flavors and diverse combinations of ingredients. Oh yes I had to get some big foot(Trinidad and Tobago snack) as well. Great service, extremely friendly staff, I’m not sure if the guy from the other side of the store came up and spoke to me but he was extremely friendly and welcoming. I’ll give this place 10 out of 5!
