Afghan Kabob

I came from Columbia, South Carolina to North Carolina, and I had no idea there was an authentic Afghan restaurant here. As an Afghan myself, I was truly happy and excited when I found Afghan Kabob, and I decided to try it. The food was excellent, the place was clean and comfortable, and the service was very friendly and respectful. The flavors were truly authentic and reminded me of home. The only thing I wish to see added to the menu is the traditional Afghan-style lamb skewer kabob. I hope this item will be added in the future because it would make the experience even more complete. As an Afghan, it made me really proud to see such a high-quality Afghan restaurant here. From now on, whenever I want to eat out, it’s worth driving from South Carolina just to come here. Such great food and a great atmosphere. We got the chicken kabob plate (picture 1) and the Kofta kabob plate (plate 2). A perfect amount of food for the price. Each plate also came with naan. We also got naan with hummus. Amazing customer service as well. We can’t wait to go back!

Afghan Kabob I tried this place today for the first time with my family for lunch. The location is pretty good, the restaurant is spacious and looks very clean. The food was also quite decent. However, the front-facing staff could be more welcoming and friendly with a smile. As first-time customers, we expected a little guidance on the order.

I cannot get over how incredible the entire experience was. The food is ridiculously incredible. I got the hummus plate and they actually portion it correctly. Some places give you so many chips and naan. But, this place gives you a bunch of hummus and an appropriate amount of naan and chips. The gyro is absolutely to die for! Even the French fries were perfectly seasoned and cooked with a crunchy outside and soft center. Now, Leo, I'm assuming he's the owner. He is the reason this restaurant will be in regular rotation. He is a massive sweet pea, he's very kind and friendly. You can really tell that he takes pride in what he does. Please, get the baklava! They have a few flavors. I had the lamb gyro last night and I cannot praise it highly enough! The lamb was well spiced and cooked to perfection and the veggies were fresh and crisp. The dining area was super clean and the staff was friendly. I will definitely return!
