Ace Sushi

I miss Akeno sushi. This new place is 30% more expensive, and the rice in the sushi isn't fully cooked, so it falls apart when picked up. I’ve been here for 5 years, and I wouldn’t recommend this place if it’s your first time here, just me.

I dont even attend GMU, but the Poke Bowl hit the spot. I would never expect the high quality of tuna and salmon that was present in this restaurant. It was fresh and almost melted in your mouth. The staff was quick and very helpful. While the food is a bit expensive for college students to eat every day, it is very fairly priced. I would definitely go here again if given the opportunity.

I tried to get food delivered via Starship and they cancelled it, saying it was sold out. Deciding to test a theory, I walked down to the JC and ordered the exact same thing—lo and behold, they had it. Then I ordered a bubble milk tea, specifically mentioning I wanted tapioca, and instead of telling me they didn’t have it, they substituted the tapioca with this absolutely terrible brown sugar topping instead. I had to go up and ask afterwards about it for them to admit to it. If I had known, I would’ve asked them to not put any toppings in it. The Thai tea is terrible and doesn’t taste anything like other Thai tea flavors I’ve tried. It literally just tastes like syrup. Akeno Sushi is one of the best places to get a poke bowl worth its weight in gold. It's got some of the freshest rice and ingredients you will ever taste. I can't list a singular thing that is wrong with their food. The seaweed is fresh, the salmon is fresh, the tuna is of course fresh. Everything is made daily and their workplace is also very sanitary. Their sauces are good, the portion sizes and perfect. I have no complaints.
