We are very familiar with the original Abe's Cajun Market in Lake Charles! We accidentally found this one while looking for a place to eat on a recent trip to Clear Lake. The staff is great, the atmosphere is wonderful and of course the food is out of this world! We will definitely be going back and highly recommend it to you if you love cajun food and find yourself near Clear Lake!
Cant believe I'm just now starting to eat here! Cannot wait to explore this throw back spots menu! Great service 👏
It was my first visit. Can’t believe I waited so long. I had just come home from NOLA and was still craving good Cajun. Outstanding! GG was awesome and let me sample some of the market items. I ended up leaving with gumbo, bisque, blackened chicken salad, red beans and rice- and dear lord- the ham muffaletta is delicious and HUGE! GG let me know I’m getting the 337 (area code) experience:) I will absolutely be back to try everything. I was also very impressed with all their fresh cakes and pies. I just couldn’t swing it all this visit. But definitely going back on a cheat day!
Great fried shrimp. The platter with fried shrimp, fried fish crawfish etoufee if a great meal.

Despite that, my family and I continued enjoying our evening, catching up and talking like families do. Around five minutes until closing, I ordered a second glass of wine. At first, they hesitated, saying they were closing, but I was eventually served. After that, my mother decided she would like to have a beer while I finished my wine. When we went back to the counter—at two minutes until closing—we were told very aggressively and loudly that they would not sell an
