A Ya So Nice: Authentic Jamaican Food

I originally went to try the coconut balls and dumplings however they only had two dumplings and were out of the balls. I landed on the oxtails and jerk chicken platters. The jerk chicken was delicious as you can taste the charcoal from the grill, the rice and peas are actually rice and beans and they were good as well. The plantains were good and they ran out of white rice. The oxtails were expensive of course however not worth it due to the amount of fat verses meat. They also weren't seasoned enough for me however they were eatable. Not something I would purchase again especially in this economy every dollar has to be worth spending. The jerk chicken was worth purchasing more so I went back to get only chicken and was told it was still going to be $17 without sides. So I went ahead an

Absolutely delicious! I ordered the brown stew with peas, rice, and cabbage lunch special, and the portion was perfect. The flavors were incredible—especially the rice, which tasted like it was cooked in coconut milk, adding to the authenticity of the meal. I also tried their beef patties, and they were just as tasty. I’m officially hooked and can’t wait to come back and explore more from the menu!

It was my first time eating here and the staff were great and very friendly. The issue of course was the oxtail only came in on size which was disappointing but still obliged, then they wasn’t sure of how much jerk chicken was available for a large or small. I ordered and waited and all seemed to be good, got home and opened my oxtail and it was pretty minimal in meat and I also asked for extra gravy which definitely didn’t have it, flavor was lacking and in whole meal. My husband had the Jerk chicken and if it was a large it didn’t seem like it, he also said that wasn’t much flavor with his food either, was excited to try this place but for the money I spent not sure if I’ll be returning
