A K Smiley Public Library

A medium sized library with an interesting red wall building structure. The Young Readers' section has some interesting glass window designs and has a small computer corner. There are many other book sections at different levels. There is also the Heritage Room/ Archive that provide many references for researchers.

This is the cutest little library, both inside and out. My favorite part is a charming corner inside with small tables, cozy lanterns, and large windows offering a lovely view. Above the windows, there's a stunning Jugendstil-colored glass window that adds so much character and warmth to the space. It's the perfect spot to relax with a book or just enjoy the ambiance. If you’re in Redlands, I highly recommend stopping by – it’s such a cozy and inviting place, full of charm and history!

Not a big Library but not a small one either. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area.

Wow. Just wow. As a writer I'm always on the lookout for new places away from home to work from. Typically, either libraries and independent coffee shops. I don't live in the Inland Empires but I travel there frequently any I've found my place. They A.K. Smiley Library is not only beautiful it's serene. The perfect environment to read and write. Every town should have a library like this.

The A.K. Smiley Public Library is one of the most iconic and pleasant places in Redlands. The architecture is beautiful, the facilities are well kept, and the grounds are immaculate. The catalogue isn't the most extensive, but it's not bad considering the small size of the library. Owing to the Young Readers' Room, I know a lot of kids in Redlands whose favorite place is the library. It's a uniquely interesting environment with a passionate staff that works to engage children through all stages of development. The programs and events they put easily top my list as the No. 1 reason Redlands in an amazing place to raise a child.
