88 BaoBao Davis

from my experience here, Davis is lucky to have a restaurant like 88baobao. It’s super close to campus and the portions are big which are perfect for students here. And not only are the portions big, it seems like they’re made with fresh ingredients and also comes out relatively fast for how busy they are. The service is fast as they greet you and seat you as soon as you walk in the door. I really like that the environment is inviting and has a warm bustling atmosphere, and they’re fastly accommodating to your needs and also super cute with children too as they hand them toys out sometimes (i think that was for the lunar new year). to talk about the food, i don’t think i’ve had a single dish i haven’t liked thus far so i’ll just rant about my favorites here!! i love the ramen here as the b

A pretty good dumpling and noodle restaurant in the U-mall plaza near Trader Joe's. There a good selection of foods such as dumplings, baos (of course) beef rolls, squid, ramen, rice dishes. The quality was acceptable and the service was really good. You order at the table on the ipad, and the food comes out pretty quickly. During lunch, the wait can be long- so just keep that in mind. Parking in the plaza can be quite annoying during lunch and dinner times. Overall, this place is not bad. I think Yan Kee is a bit higher quality and has more seating- but I think for college students, this is a nice addition in the University mall. Enjoy!

this place is sooo good!! one of my favorite restaurants in davis. the location is pretty small so sometimes there's a wait for a table but it's worth it. each table has a small tablet to order from which is pretty convenient. we got the wonton ramen, tonkotsu ramen, pork xiaolong bao, and crab rangoons. there's an option to choose different spice levels for the ramen. the food was piping hot and so delicious. really filling too! these pictures were from my first visit here but we returned earlier this week with a large party and the staff was very accommodating and let us move some tables together. it seems to be pretty busy at night so maybe shoot for earlier in the day to avoid the wait, but I'd definitely recommend this place! (delayed review, first visit was december 2025)

I ordered the chicken fried rice for take out and It was made in a very quick manner! Not only was there a half-open kitchen to watch the chefs make your food and extremely friendly staff, the ambience and aesthetic was also very nice. I was even offered to pick out a red envelope with money inside and sweet sesame riceballs as celebration for lunar new year~! Overall, would highly recommend checking this place out!

I ordered the ramen here , the portions was pretty good! And pork Xiao long bao!! So good! Love the broth Rich and flavor! Definitely come back!!!
