85°C Bakery Cafe-South Gate

Everyone comes here for the fancy cakes and Sea Salt drinks, but their standard coffee and pastries are actually a great value. The bagel was fresh and paired perfectly with a simple black coffee. It’s a bit crowded, but the quality stays consistent

The coconut twist was burnt and I had to drive back to get it replaced and they wouldn't compensate me anything, for my time gas and wear and tear on my car. I told one of the older maybe she's management lady about the burnt pastry and she kind of struck it off like she didn't care. Also in the same transaction I was charged for a Thai tea which I didn't order so I had to spend time getting it refunded

Prior to arriving at this location, I called the store and asked if they had the white chocolate strawberry and mango bun in stock. The employee responded that they were sold out for the day. I arrived at the store 5 minutes later and saw that those two buns were fully stocked up. I don’t understand why they couldn’t take at least 10 seconds to go and check. Location is still a little dirty compared to the state of it a couple months ago.

It was very dirty all tables had trash and crumbs “Nelly Nelly Santana” seemed to be having a bad day today, I asked her if I could scan my app she had already prompted the terminal to charge me, that seemed to send her in a rage, she started “tapping” the terminal infront of me very hard, she could’ve just asked me to cancel it for her… then she was very agressive for the rest of the transaction, at the end she didn’t hand me the bag or said anything else just handed me my receipt with a frown, I asked her is she was ok and she very CREEPILY turned that frown into the most fake smile and said all sarcastic “yes why?” I just started at her she is too combative I could tell she’s the type to like to argue and then the next customers after me she started being super talkative and all smile

I am so happy they finally opened one in the area... Unfortunately is super small compare to the other 85°, not as much variety and service is not greatest, but at least we have one, the taro pastries are delicious as well as the mango and coconut. Taro latte is also good and of course the prices are very affordable. Can't compare to other bakeries, since this one is Taiwanese, in other words very different from Spanish pastries and breads, if you want good Cuban pastries and desserts must go to Tropicana where you will find the authentic winner.
